Plungers

No one wants to need a plunger. However, like purchasing a fire extinguisher, it's better to have one when you need it than having to deal with the consequences of not having one. A toilet plunger can come in handy in very awkward moments. Usually, those moments are not conducive to getting in the car and running to the local hardware store: hence the preparatory and cautious tone heralded by this article.

Toilet plungers can save your bathroom flooring, carpet, and any random clothing, towels or toiletries that may be on the floor at the moment of overflow. If you have a problem with your sink getting clogged and overflowing, you may want to invest in a sink plunger as well. If you have consistent issues with clogging and overflowing drains, think about having an Aplex plunger pump installed. Or, you may want to have a professional check your pipes to see if there is something more serious going on.

There are all different types of plungers. A spring plunger employs a spring mechanism to unclog drains and toilets. Miniature spring plungers can serve as excellent choices for sinks and bathtub drains. However, spring plungers are much more expensive than rubber plungers. A rubber plunger is also called an air plunger. These use pressure and suction provided by a rubber suction cup to unclog toilets and drains. A ball plunger is similar. A hydraulic jack, or hollow plunger is generally used for industrial situations.

Of course, once you have used your plunger, you need to clean it. A lot of bacteria and other rather disgusting particles are hiding in clogged toilets and drains. When the plunger does its job, it is coming into contact with those bacteria. Soak your plunger in a bleach and hot water mixture in a bucket. If you have small children or pets, close the bathroom door so they do not get into the bleach; but be sure to leave the fan on to get rid of any fumes from the bleach.

Once your plunger is clean, you need a place to put it. A plunger holder is a good idea. A toilet plunger holder is basically a metal or plastic tube that holds and hides plungers. An attractive toilet plunger canister can help improve your bathroom immensely. Plungers are not only unattractive, but they are dirty not matter how often you clean them. Canisters keep them from touching the floor or anything else in the bathroom.
