Vanity Mirrors

Vanity mirrors come in a variety of sizes and styles. They can be found in small sizes that sit on your bathroom counter, or you can buy a vanity mirror that hangs on the bathroom wall. You can find different features on vanity mirrors, too. For example, you can purchase a lighted vanity mirror, or a vanity magnify mirror. Any option is really your personal choice.

Before getting into different styles and types of vanity mirrors, it is important to address the need for them. Vanity mirrors are often used as makeup mirrors. These are great for women who use makeup everyday or for women who have poor eyesight. Magnified vanity mirrors offer a closer look at your face and aid the grooming process by showing mistakes and flaw clearly. Since women who wear glasses cannot wear them while they apply their makeup, vanity mirrors help by magnifying the face to make it easier to see. A lighted vanity makeup mirror will also help provide a clearer and brighter view of the face. Magnifying lighted vanity mirrors are often the most popular of any vanity mirrors for this reason.

The antique vanity with a round mirror was the predecessor for the modern bathroom vanity mirrors. An antique bathroom vanity with beveled mirror would be used by women when they brushed their hair and got dressed. This has been upgraded to the modern equivalent, a small vanity table mirror that sits on the bathroom countertop. It takes up a lot less room than an entire vanity does, and it is much more practical.

Other options, such as the trifold vanity mirror, offer a different approach to vanity mirrors. These have three small mirrors and fold up so you can easily see your face from above, eye level, and from below. These are helpful for putting on eye makeup, as you can see your eye from all angles thus facilitating applying eyeliner and mascara.

A vanity with a medicine mirror is another option. Having an antique vanity mirror is a nice option if you want one that sits on your countertop. These have a 1x magnifying mirror on one side and a 3-10x magnifying mirror on the other side. The mirror can be flipped to use the other magnification. Mirror vanity trays are also an antique item; a mirror vanity tray usually held makeup products and perfume on the actual vanity. They rarely were used as mirrors.
