Bath Mirrors

The one thing in your bathroom that you use the most is the one thing that you probably think about the least. Bath mirrors are used everyday and most people aren't really even aware of it. Every time you check your makeup or shave your face, you are using that all important bathroom fixture. Bath mirrors are often overlooked when it comes time to remodel a bathroom simply because it is something that you are so used to having. However, if you are planning to completely redo your bathroom, you should consider purchasing a new bathroom mirror, if it falls within your budget.

Like any other decision made about the remodeling process, you have to consider the main aspects of your project before you choose and purchase your new bath mirrors. What is your spending limit set in your budget? Can you afford to purchase a handcrafted framed mahogany mirror, or should you stick to something simple that you can mount yourself? What kind of space are you working with? The size of your bathroom lends itself to every item in the bathroom, even bath mirrors. Finally, what style or décor have you chosen for your bathroom? Like everything else, bath mirrors come in many different styles and the one you choose should reflect the décor of the rest of the bathroom.

Now consider this: where do you need your bath mirrors? Do you or your spouse, family member or roommate shave your/their face in the shower? If so, you will want to look into a shower mirror. Shaving mirrors in the shower can be lighted and magnified, so make this decision carefully.

Does anyone in your home need a vanity mirror? Makeup mirrors or vanity mirrors are used for shaving outside the shower, for makeup application, and for facial grooming. They can be wall mounted units or table sitting units and these, too, can be lighted or have magnifying properties.

Of course, the bath mirrors most people are familiar with are the ones that are just above the sink. These come in all sorts of styles, from modern, to contemporary, to French country, and antique. Assess the other fixtures you have chosen for you bathroom before choosing what style of bathroom mirror you want. Bath mirrors can be tricky because what may seem good away from your bathroom can suddenly look wrong when placed with your other fixtures. Look at pictures not only of mirrors but of whole bathrooms. This will help you find a style that works with your décor.
