Steel Cabinets
When most people think of stainless steel, their minds don't immediately skip to steel cabinets for their newly remodeled bathroom. But perhaps more people should consider steel cabinets as an option. A quick search on the internet brings up beautiful photos of cabinetry for bathrooms. Steel cabinets may sound bulky or awkward, but in fact they are often very delicate and are always modern.
There are tons of different options when you are considering bathroom cabinets: wood, stone, and, of course, steel, are all terrific options. Many people choose materials other than steel because they are concerned about cleaning them or worry that they may not be able to find a style that matches their particular decorating tastes. The latter concern may be true, especially if you prefer antique décor or country home designs for your bathroom. But if you love the clean, space-age look of modern designs, then you will probably be able to find something you love in steel cabinets.
Of the different styles of steel cabinets available, you will definitely be able to find something that matches your existing modern décor. Most of the steel cabinets that you will find for your bathroom are square or rectangular in shape. These can be shorter cabinets that have a mirror on the front – think medicine cabinets – or, they can be longer wall mounted cabinets. Some of the most unusual styles on the market right now are very tall and thin steel cabinets that sit on the bathroom floor. These actually look more like what you might expect from a bathroom cabinet storage fixture, but they have a much cleaner, sleeker look to them.
As with anything you find for your newly remodeled bathroom, you will need to take several things into consideration. The first thing you will want to keep in mind is how much space you have available for your cabinets. If you are interested in the wall mounted types of steel cabinets, be sure to measure your walls. How much wall space do you have available over your sink and counter? Is there enough space for a larger wall mounted steel cabinet, or would it be better to stick to a smaller model? Also check your floor space. This is especially important if you are looking into the steel cabinets that sit on the floor. If you don't have enough floor space available to accommodate a cabinet next to the toilet, for example, consider a wall mounted unit that hangs above the toilet.
