Waste Baskets
In most home décor stores you will find bathroom sets that feature different matching bath accessories like soap dispensers, soap dishes, toothbrush holders, tissue holders and waste baskets. A waste basket may seem like something that is not very important, but if you have decided on a brand new decorating scheme for your bathroom, a waste basket might add a nice touch.
Of course, as with any other thing in your newly remodeled and decorated bathroom, you will need to coordinate your waste baskets with your bathroom. There are as many different types of waste baskets as there are ways to decorate the bathroom, so keep this in mind when you are on your search for bath accessories. If you pick accessories that have a matching waste basket, pick that one. This may seem like an easy way out, but if everything matches, you will be less likely to accidentally purchase something that is unattractive with your other accessories.
As for types of waste baskets, check for waste baskets with a lid. These can keep your family pets or children out of the garbage and can also cut down on any smells that may emanate from the garbage. Waste baskets for the bathroom are usually small. An 8 gallon waste basket is probably all you will need for your bathroom.
Check for waste baskets made of interesting materials other than plastic. A wood waste basket can be interesting with an Asian-styled bathroom. An oak waste basket, a birch bark waste basket, or a plain birch waste basket can be terrific for a country styled bathroom. However, keep in mind that wooden waste baskets are quite hard to clean. You will need to put a plastic bag in them to collect the trash and any liquid spills or staining products thrown into the garbage; otherwise, your waste basket may be trash!
Decorating on a budget doesn't have to be a concern. Consider who you are decorating for, as well. If you are decorating a bathroom for a little girl, a pink waste basket can work. For a boy, just a small brown waste basket can suffice for a cowboy bathroom. Save the copper waste basket and the Mission waste basket for your master bath, and save the Craftsman waste basket for the garage. It's one thing to spend a lot of money on your master bathroom or on the guest bathroom when you host a lot of events. These things will get noticed. Children will hardly every notice their waste baskets.
