Towel Racks

Having a towel rack in your bathroom is the only way to keep your towels clean, dry, and on hand when you need them. Towel racks may seem to be the most common sense item you can have in your bathroom, short of a toilet and a tub, but some people don't think about bathroom towel racks until they need them. And by the time you need a bathroom towel rack, it's usually too late and you end up running down to hall, freezing and wet, to the linen closet; and nobody likes that!

If you live in or have ever lived in an apartment, you know that the standard towel rack is the chrome towel rack that is usually install precariously behind the bathroom door, or in another rather inconvenient spot. This is also the case with regular hotel room bathrooms and the infamous hotel towel rack which is often put in an unusual spot just out of reach of the tub. Keep these things in mind when you are remodeling your bathroom: can you reach your towel racks from the sink, tub, and shower, or are you closing/opening doors to get to it? Are you towel racks in a place where your clean towels can get dirty or wet, such as right above the sink or garbage can?

Now that the problems with where to put towel racks have been discussed, it's time to delve into the possibilities for types of towel racks. Heated towel racks are something that most people associate with ritzy hotels or spas, but in fact, you can be the proud owner of a heated towel rack. When installed and used properly, they are just as safe as any other chrome wire towel racks that you can find anywhere.

Decorative towel racks are another option. Most people don't think to extend their chosen bathroom décor to the towel racks, but it is possible. A hinge mounted wooden towel rack can carry on a country or Asian theme in your bathroom. Decorative towel racks on rolled carts are also an option, and they can add an interesting spa like flair to your bathroom. Since spas often have movable towel racks, why not import one into your home? Also, try a swivel towel rack; or, you can consolidate by buying a bathroom magazine holder towel rack. The only type of towel rack that may not look good is an outdoor towel rack, as these are used in camping.
