Shower Caddies

A shower caddy is one of the most useful inventions as of late for the bathroom and shower. Essentially, shower caddies are baskets, usually made of metal or plastic, that hang over the shower nozzle in your shower stall. These baskets are designed to hold shampoo, conditions, soap, and any other toiletries that you could possibly use in your shower. This keeps you from bending down to get your shampoo from the floor or from the corners of the tub. Not only are shower caddies practical, they are also very convenient.

A plastic shower caddy can withstand the amounts of hot water put out from showers for years. Especially if they are kept clean. Plastic ones can be cleaned with any bathroom cleaner, which makes them the easiest to care for. The Rubbermaid shower caddy is the most popular of these.

Metal shower caddies are also an option. A brass shower caddy is very expensive. A shower caddy in bronze is even more expensive. A better and more cost effective option would be chrome shower caddies. Chrome can rust over time, however, so if you have a shower stall rather than a tub, you may want to get an over the door shower chrome caddy. An over the door shower caddy will generally not be subjected to as much water as one that sits under the shower nozzle, and thus it will not rust as quickly. A shower door caddy is also a great option and is sometimes used more easily because it does not require the user to face into the water to get their shampoo.

A corner shower caddy or shower shelves are another option. These are basically plastic shelves that are on a spring loaded rod that wedges between the tub or floor and the ceiling. A unique shower caddy is the portable shower caddy. It is a nice option for college students who live in dorms. Most dorms have communal showers, so a portable caddy will help with carrying toiletries back and forth to the bathroom.

Shower caddies come in different sizes, too. A smaller shower caddy will only hold a few objects and are good for small family homes. A large shower caddy can hold a lot more, and a great for single bathroom homes with many people. In busy households, some people prefer an automatic shower cleaner with a caddy. This combines two conveniences in one.
