Bathtub Grips

Bathtub grips are important not just for elderly people but for adults or all ages, and even children. The reason for this is that there are very few things that are a slippery as a bathroom, especially when water is introduced, as it is constantly in the bathroom. In order to make your bathroom a safe place to be, consider investing in tub hand grips along with bathroom tub grips for the floor of your tub to prevent your feet from slipping.

A tub and shower grip bar is probably the best way to start making you bathroom a safer place to be. There are many different types of bathtub grips that are bars or handles. A dual tub grip locks onto the edge of the bathtub and has two different handles at two different levels. This makes it easy for people of any height to use. These are generally used as a way to lower one's self into the bathtub. The easy grip tub bar is similar to the dual tub grip discussed above. Again it hooks onto the edge of the tub and has two bars at two different levels, but instead of being shorter handles, these are longer bars. This product can also help someone lower themselves into the tub or help them raise themselves from the tub.

Sure grip bath handles are also an option. These tend to be handles that resemble towel bars. They are generally metal and very simple. These are the kind that is found in hospitals. The handles are mounted to the bathtub wall like a towel bar, but they are much stronger than a towel bar. Again, the purpose of these is to support one's self when getting into and out of the bathtub.

Another type of handle-like bathtub grips are the self mounting handles. There are bathtub grips that work with suction to adhere to the bathtub wall and then provide a place to hold onto. However, there is much controversy about these as some people don't feel that they can support enough weight. Also, these can easily come off of the wall if they are not attached properly. The same holds true for self-adhesive bathtub grips and safety handles. Indeed, it seems like the best kind to use are ones that have been permanently and professionally installed. That way, you know that the bathtub grips you are relying on are not going to move or break.
